1.1 System Requirements
An IBM compatible computer with the following minimum
capability:
- Pentium3 800mhz,
- 256 mg RAM
- SVGA 800x600, 24 bit color,
- 50 mg free disk space,
- mouse,
- Win98SE/Me/XP/2000,
- CD Rom
- CD-RW or flash drive for backup
- Printer.

1.2 Installing Your System
You must have administration rights to your system
in order to successfully install Salon & Spa.
Set up your windows installation for a minimum of 800
x 600 resolution before installing Salon & Spa. Salon & Spa will
nor run on lower resolutions. Place
the CD in the CDRom drive and the installation menu should appear.
If the menu does not start select Run from your Start menu, browse to
your CDRom disk and run the file Setup.exe. Follow the prompts to
complete the installation.

Note that the program can not be copied to your hard
drive, the install program must be used.

The following icons may be installed in the Salon & Spa
group of your Start menu

1.3 Starting Salon & Spa
From the Start Menu select Salon & Spa
from the Salon & Spa group.
Salon & Spa scans your system each
time it starts and checks your database files. This process does
not take long and is intended to protect your file systems.
If you have installed an evaluation
version or are starting the system for the first time an evaluation
version screen will appear. Click on Work on the sample to evaluate the
program using the sample files provided with the program.
Click on Work on your own system to start
using Salon & Spa for your business.
You may use the setup wizard to speed
setting up your own system as it will lead you through the key setup of
Preferences, Staff, Inventory and Clients.
You will be
able to use the system in evaluation mode for 60 days. To activate a
registered version select Register now... from the
evaluation screen, type in your salon name and the registration key
provided when you purchased the program. When the program has been registered the evaluation screen
will not appear on start up.

When you start Salon & Spa it will begin in the
sales screen from which you access all of the features of Salon & Spa.
If you wish to operate with a larger resolution desktop and if your
system will support 1024x768 then select that resolution in Windows
Display and the same resolution in Salon & Spa Preferences.
The larger screen will provide some enhanced features by automatically
installing the client list screen.

1.4 Salon & Spa Tutor
If you have the Salon & Spa CD you will want to
have your staff review the tutor. There are lessons on all of the
major features in Salon & Spa. Insert the CD and select the
tutor from the menu.

1.5 Removing Salon & Spa
Only use the Windows program removal tool to uninstall Salon & Spa.
